Hardy Annual
Description: Long slender stems with are graced with large wavy blooms of rippled blue on a white background. Sowing Instructions: Sow on to a well wetted seed sowing compost in a 150 cell plug tray. Cover the seed with 5mm vermiculite to a depth of approximately 5mm and propagate at 15 to 20c. For best results sow three to four seeds per cell to produce a bushier looking plant. Germination should start to take place after 7 to 10 days. Cool down to 15c or slightly lower soon after germination to avoid any stretching of the seedlings. Another method is to sow up to 6 seeds direct into a 9cm pot and cut out the plug transfer stage all together Growing Instructions: Grow on the January sowings at 10 to 15c until they are established and then transfer them either to 9cm or 1 litre pot for sale in late April-May. Sowings made in September and October can be treated the same way but will need to be kept over winter in a well-ventilated unheated glasshouse tunnel or cold frame for sale the following spring. |
