Sow on to the surface of a free draining moist seed sowings compost. It is not necessary to cover the seed. Propagate at 15 to 18c. Germination should take place in 2 to 3 weeks. Campanula seedlings can be slow to develop so ensure that they are not over watered and that a small plug size such as a 576 is used so that the young seedlings are not sitting in large amounts of compost which may hinder root development. Maintain a temperature of 15c after germination until the seedlings are established.

Growing Instructions: It may take some time for the seedlings to develop to the potting stage, during this time shade slightly from direct sunlight to avoid any scorching of the foliage continue to take care with watering and grow as cool as possible. Pot on into a 9 cm pot when plants are established or pot three plugs to an 11 or 12cm pot and over winter in a well ventilated cold glasshouse, tunnel or cold frame this should result in quality plants with a good display of flowers for sales from May onwards the following year. A December or early January sowing will result in plants that will flower in Late June or July of the same season.
